  This has been my favourite place for Vietnamese subs for more than 20 years! Can you believe they used to be only $1.50?! Now they range $3-$4 depending on the type of meat and the size.
  
  My favourite sub is the honey garlic ($4 for large).
  
  I also buy their fried noodles with carrots, cashews, tofu, and sauce ($4.00) which for me just a simple dish but fun to eat with chop sticks.
  
  I also like their 3-colour dessert ($3.50).
  
  They only accept cash. Today (2019-11-06), I was short $0.45 (first time ever) but they said I can pay them next time. So nice of them. But the cashier probably recognized me as a long-time customer.
  
  They don't like people taking pictures in their store.

  I used to have their banh mi every time my family and I visited Toronto. We went for many summers when I was a kid. So their banh mi brings back many good memories.
  
  My husband and I tried banh mi doi long (lemongrass sausage), thap cam (assorted cold cuts), ga nuong (bbq chicken), and cha pate opla (eggs, pork, pate). The lemongrass sausage is delicious and our favorite of the 4 that we got. The meat was very fragrant with lemongrass and moist.
  
  We also got 'chao tom' already packed in the refrigerated section. My least favorite thus I took away one of their star. The flavor was good but the inside was not fully cooked. The package came with 3 sausages and all 3 were uncooked on the inside. Since we were traveling, we didn't have access to a toaster oven or microwave. Perhaps, reheating will fully cook the inside.
  
  The 'banh cong' was delicious. My husband hadn't had one in many years so, needless to say, he was super excited that they had it. The lady at the counter asked if we were traveling through the city, which we were. Then she went on to discourage him from buying it bc we can't toast it up. She said the taste won't be the same if it is not heated up. She agreed to heat it up for us with the condition that we eat it right away to ensure the taste. We thought this experience was pretty cool as she was concern about the taste of it rather making money selling it.
  
  Overall, a great experience for us. Will return. However their store hours are not displayed on their windows or their website..

  Disclaimer: I am super biased in this review as I love eating food from Nguyen Huong and pretty much grew up on it. They offer a ton of different options from their famous banh mi to rice rolls to desserts. Everytime I come here I have a hard time deciding what exactly to eat and usually end up buying too much.
  My favourite two items here are the banh mi and the cakes with the eggs (no idea what they are called). The food here is relatively inexpensive (though I still remember banh mi used to cost $1) and if you prefer you can buy the bread and ingredients from here to make the banh mi yourself at home.
  
  Do yourself a favour and try an item or two from Nguyen Huong, you will not regret it.

  Fun fact: Banh Mi Nguyen Huong owners are the parents of Banh Mi Boys!
  
  Delicious cheap eats! Who doesn't love that?
  
  A staple in my family ever since I could remember. My family would come here every time we are downtown Chinatown. Over the years, you will see a price increase but very little, barely even noticeable. A large Banh Mi is only 3.50 - that's tax included.
  
  They have probably the most authentic Vietnamese food in Toronto. Many childhood favourites.
  
  The staff members are super efficient, in and out just like that. Very little wait.
  
  They only take cash here so make sure you hit up an ATM before snooping through the shop.

  Ventured to Chinatown on one the most coldest days in Toronto. My boyfriend was talking about this place which he has been raving about since I arrived. I trust him since he is a fellow foodie, so out we walked trying to find this place. When we finally arrived at this little place, it looked like a regular Asian store that sold ready made foods. The menu is simple and to the point, which I prefer. Too many options are not helpful when you want something quick and easy. We opted for four BBQ pork banh mi sandwiches to go, no spice. It took about 3-4 minutes to prepare them from scratch, I appreciate efficiency. They were $3.50 each, what a deal.
  
  At home, we did warm them up in the microwave for 40 seconds each sandwich since we were outside for another 30-40 minutes. The first bite of the sandwich was so fresh, the bread was soft with bites of pork, cilantro and carrots. The sauce was not oozing out of the sides, it was held nicely inside. The size of the sandwich was perfect for my appetite and satisfied my craving. We just commented on this meal for about 15 minutes, biting and chewing to our hearts content.
  
  Thankful to him for introducing me to this joint, it will be a must go the next time I'm in town.
